Vedic Maths

Regular MAHE session:

  • Starting Prayers:
    • Shuklam Baradharam
    • Gurur Bramha
    • Saraswathi Namasthubhyam
    • Sahana Vavathu
  • Sloka of the day: Few kids repeated slokas learned so far and other kids yet to practice at home. The first 10 steps of Shodasopachara prayers to be practised few times at home and parents could help kids in chanting at home.Please find the below 10 slokas;
    • 1. Avahanam – Invocation:
      • asmin bimbe sri devam dhyayami, asmin bimbe sri devam avahayami
      • Meaning – I visualise Lord Deva, I invoke his form in this image. Visualise the form of the deity and chant a sloka addressed to the deity. Take flowers and aksatas, rice, in hand and after chanting, offer at the feet of the Lord.
    • 2. Asanam – Seat
      • asanam Samarpayami
      • Meaning – O Lord! I offer you a seat
    • 3. Padyam – Water for washing the Feet
      • Padyam samarpayami
      • Meaning – O Lord! I offer you water for washing the feet
    • 4. Arghyam – Water for Washing the Hands, Offer water in a cup, chanting
      • arghyam samarpayami
      • Meaning – O Lord! I offer you water for washing the hands.
    • 5. Achamaniyam Samarpayami
      • O Lord! After the bath, I offer you water for inner purification.
    • 6. Madhuparkam Samarpayami
      • O Lord! I offer you the sweet.
    • 7. Snanam Samarpayami
      • O Lord! I offer you a bath.
      • Snananantaram Achamaniyam Samarpayami
      • O Lord! After the bath, I offer you water for inner purification.
    • 8. Vastram Samarpayami
      • O Lord! I offer you a cloth.
    • 9. Abharanam samarpayami
      • offer you flowers or aksatas, O Lord! I offer you Ornaments
    • 10. Gandhan dharayami
      • O Lord! I offer you sandal paste
      • Gandhasyopari haridrakunkumam samarpayami
      • O Lord! I offer you vermilion over the sandalpaste
  • Story of the day:
    • Group 1 – The Jackal and fish – Message: Disputes always bring sufferings
    • Group 2 – Ramayana story – Why Lord Vishnu choose to born in Dasaratha’s family.
  • Asana of the day: Stretching, Surya Namaskar, Artha Matsyendra, Veera Bhadrasana, Breathing exercises & Meditation.
  • Health Recipe: Hazelnuts, Walnuts, Brazil nuts and Raisins
  • Cycling Practical training on 04 Dec: John from Cycling Basingstoke team will teach children and adults and provide introductions to some basic skills and perhaps a short off-road cycle route ride too. It would be important that bikes have well- pumped up tyres and good brakes, and warm clothes and gloves are worn. Please get these ready and both kids and adults are welcome to join this session from 11 AM in Chute house.

  • Sloka of the day: Few kids repeated slokas learned so far and other kids yet to practice at home. The first 11 steps of Shodasopachara prayers to be practised few times at home and parents could help kids in chanting at home.
  • Story of the day:
    • Group 1 – The Gardener’s visit. Moral: Never place your faith on foolish individuals
    • Group 2 – Ramayana story – About Ayodhya, the people, Aswametha Yagnam introduction, Serving food to guests.
  • Asana of the day: Stretching, Surya Namaskar, Artha Matsyendra, Veera Bhadrasana, Breathing exercises & Meditation.
  • Health Recipe: Soaked Almonds and soaked Dates
  • Cycling Practical training on 04 Dec: John from Cycling Basingstoke team will teach children and adults and provide introductions to some basic skills and perhaps a short off-road cycle route ride too.     • Group 2 – Ramayana story – Rama’s journey route map, Rama sethu pictures, about Dasaratha and his kingdom in maps.
  • Asana of the day: Stretching, Vrukhasana, Surya Namaskar, Artha Matsyendra, Breathing exercises & Meditation.
